Mold is a moisture problem first. Spraying it or painting over it does nothing if the leak, the condensation or the damp crawl space is still there. Complete Water Removal finds the water source, contains the work area, removes the affected materials safely and dries the structure so it stays gone.
What remediation involves
- Inspection and testing to find visible and hidden growth and identify the moisture source.
- Containment with plastic barriers and negative air pressure so spores do not spread through the house during the work.
- Removal of affected porous materials (drywall, insulation, carpet pad) and HEPA cleaning of surfaces that can be saved.
- Air scrubbing with HEPA filtration during and after the work.
- Drying and repair of the moisture source so the problem does not come back.
- Rebuild of what was removed, by the same crew.
Signs you may have a mold problem
A musty smell that does not go away. Spots on walls, ceilings or around windows. Allergy or asthma symptoms that improve when you leave the house. A past leak that was "handled" by letting it dry on its own. Any of these is worth an inspection.
